25 Deepcut Bridge Road, Deepcut, Surrey

Initially having secured permission for 9 dwellings and a smaller, replacement social club, the finances of the club took a turn for the worse and I was engaged to work with the client’s architect Philip Walls to promote a scheme of 13 houses, opposite the council’s major development site at Deepcut Barracks.  A viability assessment was procured from Dr Andrew Golland to help negotiate a more equitable package of developer contributions, including off-site provision of affordable housing.

A full design and access statement convinced Surrey Heath Borough Council Officers and elected Members to support the scheme.  The site had challenging topography, both laterally and along its length, but the architect skilfully designed a layout to work with this, with only limited cut and fill civil engineering necessary.

Testimonial from the client (Dr Andrew Golland):

“I have worked with ACHIEVE over a long period to deliver high quality schemes which met the objectives of the local authority and the developer.  This has always been a great working relationship.”
